Taking inspiration from the Olympics, one of the ultimate tests of the human will to strive and achieve, the Special Olympics are a commemoration of inclusivity. Through his work Grasping the World, Karam chose to evoke acceptance and mutual support while focusing on the importance of the dream as the primary impetus for courage and endeavour. This work inscribes itself within the celebration of diversity; one of the fundamental pillars of Karam’s body of work.
