Paris Metro, France

The Metro Project was an anarchic project of early morning interventions in the underground advertising billboard system of selected Parisian metro stations.

Karam painted on strips of newspaper processions of objects, people and creatures, diverse but sharing a common destiny. These shapes, which he called ‘the archaic procession’, later became the vocabulary of his public art projects.

Their sudden appearance on commercial advertising posters in Parisian urban areas opened spaces for questions and dialogue as Parisians began their working days.
