STRETCHING THOUGHTS

The Stretching Thoughts body of work started taking shape in drawings and developed into paintings, sculptures, and installations in 2013.

The series is about the human mind and the limitless possibilities that thoughts can generate. The Stretching Thoughts protagonist is depicted as an androgynous figure with a cloud of enquiring thoughts in lieu of a head. Grounded to its context, it is inherently subject to social, religious, and geopolitical confines, while its cloud of entangled thoughts stretches beyond boundaries, liberated by the unhindered potential of its thoughts. The universalist approach of Stretching Thoughts symbolises the human power to defy limits through imagination and endeavour.
